A hike in electricity theft can be expected this winter: City Power

City Power says it’s again expecting a hike in electricity theft this winter. This as another man was killed while connecting power illegally at Kapok informal settlement, south of Johannesburg.
The area has been prone to violent protests over the issue for several years. The power utility loses close to thirty million rands annually either repairing or replacing damaged infrastructure.
