The Brazil nut is Bolivia’s most important organic export product. Nearly 25 million tons are exported mainly to Brazil, the United States and Europe every year.
But massive deforestation and a lack of rainfall allegedly caused by climate change have seriously affected this year’s harvest, causing thousands of families to struggle to make ends meet.
