The first ever clinic that will cater primarily for sex workers will open its doors in Cape Town next month. The Cym Van Dyke clinic is linked to other services such as legal and peer-led programmes which assist those selling sex individually or collectively. Sex work is still criminalised in South Africa. Those involved say because of prejudice and misconceptions they often struggle to access some essential services.
