Department of Home Affairs strike put on hold

The looming strike at the Department of Home Affairs has been averted after the Department rescinded its 2015 decision to force workers to work on Saturdays without compensation. The settlement agreement between the department and workers’ representatives at the Bargaining Council was announced at a joint media briefing in Centurion, south of Pretoria.
