There has been widespread outrage at US President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israels capital. He said that he was acting under a 1995 law that requires the United States to move its embassy to Jerusalem. Trumps predecessors, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, had consistently put off that decision to avoid inflaming tensions in the Middle East. And following Trumps move, despite warnings, protests broke out in Gaza, Turkey and Jordan last night.
