The EFF has confirmed that it has written to the ambassadors of the United States, China and Canada in South Africa, to seek those countries’ assistance in tackling alleged fraud in the purchase of Transnet locomotives. The party has produced a document it says reveals evidence that a number of companies from the three countries, were involved in inflating the price of the locomotives – a move designed to benefit the Gupta family – whose affiliates, Trillian and Regiments Capital, were advisors to Transnet.
The EFF’s Spokesperson, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi says that the foreign companies must be subjected to the full might of their countries’ laws.
