A defiant Israeli prime minister says he will keep leading the country – despite police recommending he be charged for corruption and bribery.

Benjamin Netanyahu is accused of accepting nearly $300,000 in gifts from billionaire benefactors.

He is also suspected of backroom deals with the publisher of an Israeli newspaper for favourable coverage.
