Sales of made-for-exportclothes to Kenyans returns to Nairobi this weekend after similar stints in Mombasa and Nyeri. The four-day sale gives traders access to high-quality clothes at low prices. It follows the government’s move to increase local market access for designer apparels made by Export Promotion Zone firms to 40% from the initial 20%. This allows the apparel firms to dispose 40% of their entire production to the local market without paying duties. The government-led Buy Kenya Build Kenya initiative attracted over 200,000 Kenyans during its first run in Nairobi.
