Launch of the MeerKAT celebrated

Scientists attached to the Square Kilometre Array Project, have celebrated the launch of the MeerKAT – the precursor to the SKA.
They have released the clearest image yet of the centre of the universe. The image was taken by the MeerKAT continuously for about 270 hours. Deputy president David Mabuza launched the 64-dish radio telescope at Carnavon in the Northern Cape today.
