French president Emmanuel Macron has begun his 3-day state visit to China in the city of Xi’an, where he delivered a keynote speech at Daming Palace, an ancient imperial palace complex built during the Tang Dynasty. Earlier in the day, Macron and his wife visited Xi’an’s famous terracotta warriors. Macron is expected to arrive in Beijing late Monday afternoon to discuss bilateral ties with Chinese President Xi Jinping. During his stay in the capital, Macron will visit Beijing’s Forbidden City, meet with French and Chinese entrepreneurs, witness the signing of several big deals, and attend a formal state dinner.
