Progress on disability rights in SA despite inequalities

South Africa’s vast inequalities have not prevented the country from making progress in addressing the challenges faced by people living with disabilities, ten years since ratifying the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. That’s the view of Deputy Minister of Social Development, who is also visually impaired. She is leading a 12 person delegation to this year’s United Nations meeting of the States Parties to the Convention in New York.
