*President Jacob Zuma says it will be a fitting tribute to the 1976 generation if young people today could exploit the opportunities presented by the country’s freedom and democracy. He was speaking at the main commemoration of the National Youth Day in Ventersdorp, in the North West.
*SADC leaders have congratulated Lesotho on a peaceful hand over of power at the inauguration of Prime Minister Tom Thabane in the capital Maseru.
*And Saturday’s second test against France in Durban will give a clearer indication of whether the Springboks have emerged from their 2016 slump.
