VBS Mutual Bank which granted former president Jacob Zuma a R7.8 million bond to pay for security upgrades at his Nkandla residence has been placed under curatorship by the South African Reserve Bank following reports that VBS is facing a liquidity crisis after Treasury instructed municipalities to stop investing in the bank.
