In efforts to eliminate malaria in Africa, Senegal is hosting the Pan-African Malaria Conference. The five day meeting is being held in the capital, Dakar. Around 2,500 researchers and healthcare professionals are taking part in the discussions. Despite global progress in combating the mosquito-borne disease, malaria continues to cause significant illness and deaths in Africa. During his opening address, Senegal’s President Macky Sall has explained his administration’s efforts to combat the disease.
