U.S. President Donald Trump is set to announce curbs on business with the Cuban military. The president is traveling to Miami for the Central American Security Conference, where he is expected to announce the business restrictions. These refer mainly to a prohibition on “financial transactions” with military-backed tourism conglomerate GAESA. The firm is involved in joint ventures with several foreign firms that have driven tourism to Cuba. Trump is also expected to announce stricter enforcement of rules for Americans traveling to Cuba.
