Two people killed during protests in Soweto

Two people have been killedduring a service delivery protest in Nancefield, Soweto. A 17-year-old was shot and killed when security officers opened fire on a crowd that was attempting to block trains in the area. Police say enraged members of the community then tried to chase the three security guards, catching one of them.
He was then beaten to death. The area remains tense.
Police are maintaining a strong presence. Gauteng Police spokesperson Kay Makhubele says a pregnant woman was also shot.
She’s been rushed to hospital.
