WATCH: Looters loot shops in Kimberley

Widespread looting overnight has continued into the second day of the violent service delivery protests in Kimberley.

According to police reports, an element of criminality has taken over, creating a volatile situation on the ground.

A Pick n Pay Liquor store was looted overnight and visuals of other shops being targeted have surfaced on Friday morning.

Sol Plaatje Mayor, Mangaliso Matika, has called on the public to wait for the town council to do its job with respect to addressing their grievances.

The protesters have called for the resignation of the Municipal Manager and the easing of high electricity tariffs.
