Cape Town – Five male suspects aged between 21 and 27-years-old were arrested by members from Flying Squad in Muizenberg on Monday.

The arrest was effected on Monday evening at about 18:55. The members were patrolling in the area when they spotted the Toyota Corolla that was reported as hijacked in the area.

Suspects are appeared in the Muizenberg magistrates’ court today for possession of hijacked vehicle.

In a separate incident on Tuesday, Steenberg police station members were busy with patrols in Sonata Street Steenberg when the occupants of a Mercedes Benz shot at the police vehicle, damaging the one fender. Investigation revealed that the Mercedes Benz was reported stolen in Goodwood earlier this month.

The two suspects, 27-years-old and 35-year-old, are due to make a court appearance in Wynberg on charges of attempted murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, possession of a stolen vehicle and malicious damage to property, once they have been charged.
