What’s up with these 2-1 defeats? That may be what many Kaizer Chiefs fans and coach Giovanni Solinas will be wondering about after the Amakhosi lost to Zimamoto in the Caf Confederation Cup on Tuesday.

While Solinas will be relieved that his team do advance to the next round on a 5-2 aggregate score, the Italian mentor will have to find a solution in defence after they conceded two penalties.

Zimamoto opened the scoring in the 43rd minute, when Yussuf Mtuba converted from the spot.

Chiefs came out firing after halftime, and duly equalised through midfielder Lebogang Manyama, with Bernard Parker providing the assist, according to the Amakhosi Twitter page.

Another goal three minutes later, by Ryan Moon, was disallowed by the referee, and then disaster struck the South African outfit when Zimamoto were awarded a second penalty.

Mtuba stepped up to beat Virgil Vries in goal in the 72nd minute, but Chiefs managed to keep the home side at bay for the rest of the match on the artificial pitch.

The Amakhosi’s next match is on December 12 against SuperSport United at the FNB Stadium.
