A woman was stabbed in the neck after she confronted one of the London Bridge attackers, an inquest has heard.

Nurse Helen Kennett told the Old Bailey she had tried to help Alexandre Pigeard who was mortally wounded but he told her, “no, just run”.

She turned to the knifeman, asking what was wrong with him, as he stabbed people at random on 3 June 2017.

Ms Kennet herself was then attacked and left the scene because she wanted to die with her family, the court heard.

“I was convinced I was going to die but I didn’t want to die there,” she said.

“I wanted to die round the corner with my family.”

Ms Kennett has been giving evidence to an inquest being held for the eight people, including Mr Pigeard, who were killed by the attackers who drove a van into pedestrians on London Bridge before stabbing people in and around Borough Market.
